The Obama Administration is currently drafting a lengthy application form to be used by Americans who need to buy health insurance in the future, getting ready for the time when the Obama health reforms kick in for real next year.

The draft forms were revealed Tuesday by Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar of the Associated Press, who described the application process to buy insurance or to qualify for federal subsidies to be "as daunting as doing your taxes."  His story is here.

For example, the draft "Application for Health Insurance (and to find out if you can get help with costs)" form runs 21 pages - you can see the form here.

There is also a more extensive 61 page draft document that can take you through a more detailed exam of what you qualify for - that can be found here.

The Department of Health and Human Services has even released a video - almost 12 minutes long - designed to help you figure out how to enroll and get health coverage.

The AP reports that estimates are it will take 30 minutes - on average - to complete the needed forms.

But if you don't have the documents you need, it certainly would take longer in some cases.
