We are thrilled that the communities of Franklin, Springboro, Carlisle and the surrounding townships said “yes” to the library levy issue that was on the ballot Nov. 3. ...

A hearty “thank you” goes first to the people who supported us financially. ... We also thank the wonderful team of workers who made spreading the word about our levy a priority. ...

To each person who went to the polls and voted to support their library: Thank you! Your belief in strong libraries motivates all of us.

Library director Anita Carroll and the amazing library staff will continue to work extremely hard in serving you. Likewise, your volunteer library board will continue to be thrifty with every dollar we receive, knowing that there will be a continual slowdown of money coming from the state.

We are pleased to announce that because the levy passed, beginning Dec. 1, normal library hours will be restored at both libraries — and we are buying new books once again.

Thank you for keeping your libraries open, thriving and accessible to all. In the midst of a struggling economy, the people of our communities showed that the incredible value of libraries, established early in our country’s history, lives on today.
