To the Sound Off caller regarding the Frank Frisch suggestion for Middfest: You say, stop being narrow-minded. To describe “rednecks” from Kentucky as being “clannish, narrow-minded and non-inviting” is ... itself narrow-minded, to put it mildly.

As far as being “non-inviting,” that might have some validity to you, singularly, if during your experience with them, you project the same prejudiced attitude as you exhibit in your Sound Off.

If “Middfest is just the answer to broaden all of our minds,” clearly it hasn’t had the desired effect on you.

We’re also quite aware “there’s life outside Middletown and Kentucky.” Many of our relatives and acquaintances reside in other areas and, no doubt, encounter characters such as yourself. ...

This internationla these midfest has is old news they can't even draw flies with some of this cultural stuff.A mountain festival would draw real Americans from all over the region,like it or not it is at least a home grown culture that millions identify with.

I vote for some sort of Blues, Ribs, and Octoberfest combination. That will liven up the place.
