Politics and the Bible

To the person who wanted Bible Scripture to testify (about) Christians in politics. The only thing close would be when Paul said, “Pray for your leaders and the ones that are set over you.” There was no democracy when the Bible was written. The Bible makes too much sense for politics anyway.

Here’s how we can increase jobs in the Butler and Warren County area. Just make Bill Becker retire and stop taking additional jobs. That will be an improvement right there in itself.

(Barack) Obama says he is focusing on creating jobs. Please, Mr. Obama, quit focusing on creating jobs before you have us all unemployed.

I, too, have a wonderful Journal carrier named Denise Davis. Perhaps you would like to show your appreciation — as I do — by saving the plastic bags in which she puts the papers. My neighbors also collect them and — on the next-to-last day of the month — put them in a container on my front porch. Deliverers are not employees of The Journal but are independent contractors and must pay for bags and all other expenses, such as gas. Show your appreciation to your Journal deliverer.

The Butler County court system needs some serious changes. A judge issues a court order to a person and then does not follow through. When a person is ordered to pay child support, they should pay, not go back and get it lowered when they are laid off or quit work. If they are ordered to sign papers, sign them; don’t make the ex-wife have to serve papers in a year to make him sign. Maybe the judge should put this person in jail for 30 days so they would understand what a court order is. Maybe Sheriff (Richard) Jones and Chief Deputy (Anthony) Dwyer should check out these court-order offenders. The ex-wife has to pay court costs and lawyer fees every time the offender doesn’t follow rules. The offenders keep getting by. Is this justice?
