I support health care reform. I support letting the private sector reform the system with the help of the government. I do not support the government taking over, and ruining the best health care in the history of the world.
The government has already shown how well it handles health care. Look at Medicare and Medicaid. These are two programs that are poster children for government waste.
The government has already shown how it throws money at problems with minimal results. Look at the TARP and “Porkulus” programs. The financial system is still a train wreck, and the “Porkulus” has done very little in the way of job creation.
If Congress would reform itself, instead of trying to reform the American system that has worked well for the last couple hundred years, we might have a chance.
The poor, whose cause the liberals claim to champion, are still poor after over a half century of government handouts. Maybe the liberal politicians are more interested in keeping themselves comfortable than actually helping those in need. How about supporting real education for those needy, so they can help themselves?
It’s time to end the handouts. Get out of the way so that the private sector can create the jobs that will allow all people to raise their standards of living, and afford some kind of health insurance.
