Whoever taught meteorologists how to predict weather needs to go back to school. I am furious that, on Feb. 5, our school was canceled. It was totally unnecessary. If my child misses again, they have to make it up at the end of the year. Even the high school’s early dismissal was foolish. We put our faith in these weather reports. When are we going to get some accuracy? It only creates panic. I cut hair for a living. If I screwed up haircuts like they do forecasts, I would be out of a job.
Congratulations to the Middletown street department. You did an excellent job cleaning the streets after the latest snowstorm.
Could I have some input on why women who work in a dirty steel mill have to wear so much makeup and fix their hair before they go to work? Why do they really need to?
In regard to real estate ads: It is West Alexandria Road, not just Alexandria Road. It is West Elkton Road, not Elkton Road, with a “W” behind it. These were named years ago and have a purpose. West Elkton was west of where the elk ran. That is why it is named that — so please, real estate agents, get your records straight.
In a full-serve restaurant, you should receive full service. I am a waitress and I do this. In return, it is appreciated for the gratuity to be at least 15 percent, which is not too much to ask for good service. However, on Sundays, all the Christians come out of church and run you to death. They are in big parties. Most are nice, but you get rude people, too. The thing is — if you don’t want to leave a tip, don’t go to a full-service restaurant. It’s just that simple. We need to make money. We make $3.85 an hour. Think about that.
