The people who think that if you don’t like listening to Christmas music in early November, you are a Scrooge, really have got the wrong idea. The Christmas holiday is not about shopping. It’s not about music. It’s not about decorations. It is about the birth of Jesus. ... If we give gifts, it shouldn’t be because we feel compelled to go out and shop. It shouldn’t be because we are bombarded by decorations and Christmas music. It is about being a giving, sharing and caring person. Just because somebody doesn’t think that Christmas music at the beginning of November is appropriate does not make them a Scrooge. ... It is a marketing gimmick. People should be offended by this. ...

I can’t figure out why these people are so happy about giving equipment to Cuba. You would think they could find a non-communist country that they could send that stuff to. Talk about Americans helping America. Yeah, I can see what we’re doing — just like the rest of them. Just like (Barack) Obama wants us to do.

You have the empty Swallen’s building with many levels of floor space; a huge, attached parking garage with elevators; and an almost-empty Manchester Inn across the street. Incorporate a well-balanced gaming operation in this palace with enough room for a nice, affordable restaurant and give it a chance. Patrons can be informed that if they don’t behave, the police station and jail is also just around the corner. ...

Who gives a rat’s you-know-what about Kentucky? I like Middfest. I have been attending Middfest for years and I am going to continue supporting Middfest. Who cares about Kentucky?
