Regarding President Obama talking about needing more engineers for high-tech jobs in this country, why don’t we start giving government grants for engineering students and cut out funding all these teachers and people that can’t find jobs? Don’t leave them with a burden of having to pay some huge college debt off when they get out of college. Tell them we’ll give you a grant if you have the qualifications to be an engineer. We don’t need anymore physical education majors. Everybody can’t be a coach.

Regarding the city of Middletown, I am not pleased with what I read about in comparison in the June 13 Middletown Journal regarding the swimming pool and the children of our community.

I saw in the June 15 Middletown Journal where they are trying to pass a bill for five percent wage decrease for future politicians. I say why don’t we have a merit system, like they are trying to shove down everybody’s throats. Let’s have a merit system for the governor and the people up in the high offices.
