In response to the (Oct. 17) letter that asked, “Where was the press on Oct. 5 when 105 public-option advocates rallied outside Rep. Boehner’s West Chester Twp. office?”:

On Sept. 12, I was with 1.7 million fellow Americans marching on Washington, D.C. We were there to protest our out-of-control government and the takeover of any more of our health care, including the public option. Our objective is to reduce this government.

This number of people, from every state in the union, broke all previous records, yet it is not being reported by the media. ...

Do we care that the media ignored us? No. We ignore the media. This patriotic march was one of the best times of my life. We know where we stand on our issues and who we are fighting against.

Editor’s note: The size of the Sept. 12 crowd has been disputed, with most news organizations estimating it in the “tens of thousands.”
