Regarding the talk about the subdivisions wanting to get out of Middletown: There have been bunches of people in Blue Ball wanting to do that for years. We haven’t organized. Worst thing that happened to people of downtown Blue Ball was getting annexed into Middletown. We’re going to be next on the list to get split from Middletown.

Regarding Rachel Hutzel’s June 21 article: She’s right on the money. Drug dealers and users are not getting enough punishment. Our jails are full. They don’t get sentenced unless there’s violent crime. In regards to our education, if they would take the gangs out of the schools and put some prayer and structure and education back in, they might be a safe place for our kids to get a decent education.

Again, I see where we have to have a consulting firm to do anything in Middletown. We have two competing consulting firms, apparently. It seems the last paragraph of the article that they wrote was that they want to back him, even if the voices of the people are against him. Well, why do you want to pick a superintendent who nobody approves of in the public?

Just remember Middletown, you reap what you sow. Try to recall all the times you disrespected your neighbors like Monroe, Franklin, Lebanon etc. The land grabs you pulled like with the Town mall, Blue Ball, Fenwick H.S. and the atttempt to get Franklin school tax base.Look what you did to Amanda. No one wants to be a part of Middletown.Your neighbors west of the river have told you long ago to stay on your side of the river.Enjoy the 6 million dollars spent on Middletown (Ha Ha)Atrium Hospital.

concerning the welfare system, all your doin is suppling welfare to girls who keep getting pregant and letting their worthless boyfriends live there so they don't have to pay child support. these are physical able people that can work.but this is easier way section 8 and food stamps and medical.so now you can pay for their drugs and alchol.this is why middletown is dying, and companys go out of buiness cause most of you on welfare don't want to work and try and help yourself.

The City of Middletown has no respect for people as they have land grabbed for many years. I also, lived in Amanda most of life. It was much better off before it was zoned into Middletown. Howard was right, we had better roads, the snow was always plowed, and we were given respect.

The way the city pushed in the zoning laws to allow SunCoke to build in the middle of neighborhoods, was very greedy and lacked compassion for the local people.

Some of Amanda residents would like to secede from Middletown. When the township had us we always had streets plowed of snow and we had good streets. Since Middletown took us we seldom see a snow plow and the streets haven't been paved since they took over. Forget about seeing a cop at least our twp cops came as soon as they were called. You might see one of Mdpd cars 2 or 3 hours after you call them If you are lucky

I am atheist however, I do believe prayer meditation in school will start to maybe teach some manners and respect to the students. I have NO OBJECTIONS to my children being made part of it in the mornings. My children make their own decisions regarding religion. One child goes to church on most Sundays on her own. They do not have to believe the way others do but they do need to be respectful to others fews and practices.
