Just remember Middletown, you reap what you sow. Try to recall all the times you disrespected your neighbors like Monroe, Franklin, Lebanon etc. The land grabs you pulled like with the Town mall, Blue Ball, Fenwick H.S. and the atttempt to get Franklin school tax base.Look what you did to Amanda. No one wants to be a part of Middletown.Your neighbors west of the river have told you long ago to stay on your side of the river.Enjoy the 6 million dollars spent on Middletown (Ha Ha)Atrium Hospital.

concerning the welfare system, all your doin is suppling welfare to girls who keep getting pregant and letting their worthless boyfriends live there so they don't have to pay child support. these are physical able people that can work.but this is easier way section 8 and food stamps and medical.so now you can pay for their drugs and alchol.this is why middletown is dying, and companys go out of buiness cause most of you on welfare don't want to work and try and help yourself.

The City of Middletown has no respect for people as they have land grabbed for many years. I also, lived in Amanda most of life. It was much better off before it was zoned into Middletown. Howard was right, we had better roads, the snow was always plowed, and we were given respect.

The way the city pushed in the zoning laws to allow SunCoke to build in the middle of neighborhoods, was very greedy and lacked compassion for the local people.

Some of Amanda residents would like to secede from Middletown. When the township had us we always had streets plowed of snow and we had good streets. Since Middletown took us we seldom see a snow plow and the streets haven't been paved since they took over. Forget about seeing a cop at least our twp cops came as soon as they were called. You might see one of Mdpd cars 2 or 3 hours after you call them If you are lucky

I am atheist however, I do believe prayer meditation in school will start to maybe teach some manners and respect to the students. I have NO OBJECTIONS to my children being made part of it in the mornings. My children make their own decisions regarding religion. One child goes to church on most Sundays on her own. They do not have to believe the way others do but they do need to be respectful to others fews and practices.

so you think you know me just from what I write? My response was about non-freedom of religion or lack there of. the original article said we should bring back prayer in school. I disagree with that. If a child should choose to take a moment to pray in school, I am totally supportive of that. What I am not supportive of is prayer being forced on children or anyone for that matter. if they dont believe in the God they pray to, it wont be of any help!

"That only breeds hate, discontentment, and resentment."

Sure sounds like you are describing yourself to a "T" here Miss M. No one is forcing anyone to do anything except you that don't want to allow people who would like to pray or meditate to whemever do it.

You all are hypocritical. I never said organized orayer. I said moment of prayer or meditation. So if you are like john and you want tp pray to chalkboard eraser you can. If you are like Miss M you can sit there and boil with anger and if you are the rest of the world you can pray or meditate to whom ever you like. You know it is alright to tell those that would like to pray, meditate or say the Pledge "no you can't" not in school, but funny how it doesn't work the other way around.

I knew a lot of kids who sold drugs to take care of their siblings, because their parents were sitting at home high. Now after these kids put their lives on hold to pick up their parents slack (the only way they knew how) they are all in the same place.Due to charges they’ve accumulated.I think that children services should do more. Stop letting the parents throw their children to the wolves. It doesn’t take religion it takes adults with dedication and affection.

What does religion and praying have to do with getting a education? Nothing! The same people who want prayer in school would want prayer before you withdraw money from a atm machine or before mowing your grass. As long as it's the correct prayer. They probably want you to go to the same church. They are intolerant of any other religion. They say everyone else is going to Hell. I believe in God also but I don't think you get brownie points for spreading the word.

btw, Ike...I reject organized religion, but I do not reject God! I dont believe that mandatory prayer will do any good. A person should come to God with love for Him. Not from being forced. That only breeds hate, discontentment, and resentment. I am not an example of what is wrong with todays school system. There were troubled children, dysfunction families, and thugs, punks, and dropouts even when there was prayer in school. Its just that no one talked about it. It was hushed up.

btw Ike, I reject organized religion but I do not reject GOD! Organized religion causes so many problems with its corruption, unacceptance of others who are different, and its need to control. Im not an example of whats wrong in todays education system. Just dont happen to think that bringing back prayer will do anything. A person should come to God out of love for Him. Not out of being forced to. That just breeds hate and discontentment and resentment.

ike, thousands of people have died in the name of religion! Since Christ was crucified, people have killed others in the name of christianity! They have killed because of their beliefs. Tried to force others into their beliefs. If a child wants to say a silent prayer, I think its ok. But I dont think it should be a mandatory part of the day to have prayer time. Not in public schools. Maybe in private religious schools but not public.

miss m you are to wacked out of your mind with your comment on prayer. I'd go for a prison for wacko Liberal atheists.

What would a moment of silent prayer or meditation hurt in todays school. You can silently pray or not, in any religion you want. miss m is a good reason schools are the way they are today. It is unfortunate and a shame that you have such a dim view of other peoples religion in your comparison.

I agree that if people got a harsher sentence for first time drug offenses, they may reconsider repeating the crime. however, drugs are addictive, and usually there is an underlying mental reason that one begins to use drugs in the first place. figure out the reason, help the person to get past it, and maybe they will not be repeat offenders. but then again, Im all for the legalization of marijuana.

to the person who wrote to sound off. regarding prayer in schools. I guess we should go back to shoving christianity down peoples throats, and then we can go back to putting foreigners in concentration camps, lynching and hanging blacks, and raping women and molesting children and that all being ok. if some one wants to pray, fine, if not, oh well. Freedom of religion and freedom to reject religion. that is the american way!

Blue Ball you are a prime example as to why Middletown will not allow the First neighborhood out as it will lead to attempts by many more. They will never agree to this and you need their OK to secede, so don't waste your time and money.
