'This is not God's way'
Thursday, March 22, 2007
In response to a column in Sunday's paper by a noted columnist, I would like to differ with him on what is moral and what is not. The subject was homosexuality.
Extras
The writer said that the Old Testament passage concerning homosexuality was obscure, otherwise outdated. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has not changed His mind about what is wrong or right. Man changes things to suit himself and his desires.
God created man and woman and told them to go forth and replenish the earth, after they had disobeyed God. Two men or two women cannot create a child, except by artificial means. This is not God's way or His plan. I would also like to add that God's opinion of homosexuality is in the New Testament. As I said, God does not change.
The writer can call us bigots or whatever comes to his mind, but we will follow what the Bible says. Our servicemen are supposed to represent our country, to be our very finest — not portray to the world that we accept the homosexual lifestyle. Are we going to end up like Sodom and Gomorrah? Those cities were destroyed because of this sin.

'Listen to message'
Madam President Hillary Clinton sounds good to me.
I take exception to the March 10 article by Kathleen Parker (that reported) Sen. Hillary Clinton was pretending to be something she is not — Southern — when she went to Selma, Ala., for the "Bloody Sunday" commemoration. Did Ms. Parker forget that Sen. Clinton was the first lady of Arkansas? Prior to that, Hillary Clinton worked for the prominent Rose law firm in Arkansas, where she volunteered to legally represent defendants in the South sitting on death row.
Instead of criticizing how she speaks or sings, why not just listen to the message? The message I get is that Hillary Clinton speaks out for the rights of many, including firefighters, unions, children and minorities. Why can't you hear that, Ms. Kathleen Parker?
