Carlisle boys remain unbeaten

Carlisle defeated National Trail 63-41 to remain undefeated in boys high school basketball on Saturday.

Andrew Goodpaster tallied 16 points and Braden Lieungh and Gideon Cunningham each had 13 for the Indians (4-0), who led by 15 at the half.

Girls basketball

Edgewood 29, Ross 25: Maura Hackney led Edgewood (1-3) with 8 points. Ross (3-1) kept its streak of holding every opponent under 30 points alive but an 8-for-51 shooting performance and 14 missed free throws was too much to overcome.

Carlisle 45, Middletown Christian 34: Kelsey Minton led Carlisle (3-3) with 15 points. Makenzie Tolson had 12 points to lead Middletown Christian (2-2).

Fairborn 50, Springboro 43: Jenny DeGraaf scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Springboro (2-1) in a losing effort. Alexis Gassion led the Skyhawks (2-1) with 14 points.

Waynesville 48, Monroe 24: Ali Caplinger scored 22 points and Alex Brooks added 14 as visiting Waynesville (3-3) defeated Monroe (1-4).

Hockey

Talawanda 6, Alter 0: The Braves shut out the Knights behind Andy Sens’ 16 saves and two goals each from Taylor Hamilton and Brandon Tafelski.

Gymnastics

Brooke Middleton won the vault, Audrey Harpen won beam, Crystal Kratzer took first in floor and Gabby Sora won the all-around for Mason at the Forest Hills Flip Fest Invitational.

Bowling

Middletown boys finished 2nd with a 2965 at the Holiday Classic held at S&S Western Bowl. The girls finished 3rd with a 2704.
