Two area players are making an impact with the Lehigh University women’s basketball team this season.

Junior guard/forward Lindsay Hoskins, a Madison High School graduate, has made eight starts and is averaging 6.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. She’s shooting 44.7 percent from the floor and 78.6 percent from the foul line.

Senior forward Sarah Pearce (Fenwick) has played in seven games and made one start. She’s marking 3.0 points and 1.7 boards per contest, shooting 83.3 percent from the charity stripe.

The Mountain Hawks (4-5) will host Sacred Heart on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.

Women’s swimming

Freshman Serena Daley (Fenwick) recorded the 10th-best 100-yard freestyle time in Butler history at IUPUI’s House of Champions Invitational, a three-day event that ended Dec. 2.

Daley’s time was 54.89 seconds for the Bulldogs. They will be back in action Jan. 19 when they travel to Wittenberg.

Men’s swimming

Senior Blaine Kincaid (Springboro) helped Ohio State win the OSU Invitational, a three-day event that concluded Dec. 2, with a 12th-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:00.90).

The Buckeyes host Wright State on Jan. 11.

Men’s basketball

Freshman forward Justin Rossi (Franklin) has played in three games and made one start for Northern Kentucky (0-6). He’s taken three shots (all 3-pointers) and made two of them, also collecting two rebounds and one assist.

The Norse travel to Virginia to face Hampton on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.

Women’s track

Three Lebanon athletes competed for the Ohio Bobcats last weekend at Kent State’s Golden Flash Gala indoor meet.

Sophomore Delaney Bolger took fourth place in the 800 meters (2:20.62), while freshman Erika Davis was 25th in the 300 dash (44.69). Freshman Hayley Stegemiller finished 12th in the pentathlon, winning the 800 in 2:24.94.

OU travels to Tiffin for the TUTF Carnival on Jan. 18-19.
