Winter storm to bring 3 to 4 inches of snow tonight

A winter storm warning will be in effect from tonight until Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The warning, which means severe winter weather conditions are imminent or highly likely, will begin at 7 p.m. and last until 1 p.m. Saturday

Snow accumulations of 3 to 4 inches — with isolated amounts of up to 5 inches — will be possible, according to the weather service.

Snow may briefly mix with rain this evening near the Ohio River and will taper off to snow showers by Saturday afternoon.

The winter weather advisory issued earlier today is no longer in effect.
