MIAMI VALLEY —
The News Center 7 viewing area will get some long awaited rain in the form of light and scattered showers Tuesday afternoon and evening, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said, as clouds will stick around at least until Wednesday.
The clouds mean that temperatures will not be as cool and that’s a departure from the last seven mornings, when temperatures have been at or below freezing.
With the mostly cloudy sky Tuesday, afternoon temperatures in the Miami Valley still should be able to reach the mid to upper 50s in part because of the milder morning. The chance for showers decreases after midnight Tuesday, said Simpson.
Wednesday starts out in the lower 40s, but temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 50s in the afternoon with the returning sunshine. Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, likely will turn out to be the best day of the week weather-wise.
Turkey Trot runners will hear the gun go off to sunshine and temperatures near 40, said Simpson. Early afternoon eaters will have sun and highs in the upper 50s to 60 to work off some calories. Evening diners get to enjoy a great afternoon.
Changes come Friday as a cold front also will bring showers. The viewing area will start in the lower 40s for early Black Friday shoppers but rain arrives through the morning, said Simpson. The high likely will reach into the upper 40s around midday Friday, then drop back to 40 or so by sunset with showers tapering later in the day.
Colder air continues to move in for Saturday. It will be dry but chilly with a morning low in the upper 20s and an afternoon high of around 40. Sunday will be a bit better, with more sun and afternoon highs in the mid 40s, said Simpson.
