MIDDLETOWN —

Middletown police have arrested two men involved in a home invasion early Friday morning and are looking for a third.

Police say Marcus Williams, 26, of Baltimore Street, and Christopher Sprinkles, 25, of Garfield Street, wore bandannas to hide their faces, kicked in the door at 3224 Seneca St. and displayed a weapon. Police were dispatched at 12:54 a.m. Friday.

Sprinkles headed straight to the bedroom while Williams held Neil Amburgey and Stephanie McDaniel at bay. The couple were watching television while McDaniel’s 2-year-old son was on a recliner when the two broke in. McDaniel protected her 2-year-old son during the incident, which only lasted a few minutes, according to the police report.

Middletown police detectives Tom McIntosh and Ken Rogers believe Williams and Sprinkles gave the items stolen from the home to a third party. They are not yet releasing that person’s name but anticipate filing receiving stolen property charges against that person.

Williams and Sprinkles have both been charged with aggravated burglary. Sprinkles has also been charged with tampering with evidence and drug abuse (marijuana).

Police said the victims recognized Sprinkles, even with a bandanna over his face.

Officer Justin Camper, one of the first responding officers, “quickly apprehended” Sprinkles at his home on Garfield Street.

Williams and Sprinkles were arraigned Friday morning in Middletown Municipal Court and are set for a preliminary hearing for the felony charge at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sprinkles has a history with Middletown court, including several traffic violations. Williams also has a history with the court, but past appearances involved drug abuse, domestic violence, having weapons under disability and several traffic violations.

The case remains under investigation.
