MIDDLETOWN —

Hundreds of dollars have been charged to credit cards stolen from vehicles in the parking lot of the Atrium YMCA.

Police say on two occasions in September in the parking lot of the YMCA at 5750 Innovation Drive two vehicles were broken into and purses stolen.

The stolen credit cards, police said, were then used in the Bellbrook and Dayton areas.

The first theft happened between 5:30 and 6:37 p.m. Sept. 7. Someone broke out the windows of the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse.

The victim told police she didn’t know who would take her purse, “however it was sitting out in the open in her vehicle,” according to the police report.

The second theft happened between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Sept. 26.

The victim said that a Thirty-One brand denim purse with brown leather handles was stolen.

The victim stated that hundreds of dollars had been charged to the credit card at Revco and Sunoco in Dayton and Discount Drug Mart in BellBrook.

Anyone with information should contact Detective David Swartzel at (513) 425-7742.
