A Middletown man accused a 44-year-old man of stealing $400 from his home in the 2100 block of Wayne Avenue. During the investigation, police found the accuser’s friend, a 31-year-old Middletown woman, had an outstanding warrant for failure to comply and was arrested.
A 20-year-old Hamilton woman was arrested at Lowe’s, 3125 Towne Blvd., on suspicion of petty theft and obstructing official business. Police say the woman stole a shower head and gave a false name when taken into custody. When police said she would not have a bond since she had no valid social security number, she provided police with her real name.
While preparing to sell items inside Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1220 Young St., someone broke into the building and stole a baby grand piano, six brass offering plates, a silver communion set up, a wireless microphone system, and two tables before 12:56 p.m. The value of the items stolen, except for the tables, were reported to be $11,475.
A 56-year-old Middletown man was arrested just before 8 p.m. in the 1600 block of South University Boulevard on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, slow speed, seatbelt violation and open flask.
An Xbox game console, $100 worth of DVDs and a coin collection were stolen before 10 p.m. from a home in the 3000 block of Omaha Street. Police say the thief removed a window air-conditioning unit to gain access and replaced it after they left.
Oct. 25
An air conditioner’s compressor was stolen before 10:40 a.m. from a home in the 2000 block of Tytus Avenue.
A cart full of merchandise, including a vacuum cleaner, was stolen before 2:30 p.m. from Kroger, 3420 Towne Blvd. Store security told police they saw the woman get into a vehicle. That vehicle, police say, is registered to a Lebanon woman.
A 28-year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 12:01 p.m. in the 1300 block of Central Avenue on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, weaving and driving under suspension.
A picture of the Iron Horsemen, a set of false teeth and a PlayStation game console were stolen before 7:24 p.m. from a shed in the 1500 block of South Main Street.
Oct. 26
A vehicle was stolen around 2:30 a.m. that was parked in the 2400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.
Oct. 28
Eight fishing poles, 10 beer steins, a full tackle box and a chain saw with a case were stolen before 7 p.m. Oct. 28 from a home in the 2900 block of Navaho Street. The total value of the items reported stolen were $1,700.
