Police reports: Chase leads to arrest for robbery, traffic violations

March 1

A Franklin woman, Charlene Minton, of Manchester Road, was charged with one count of robbery, one count of OVI, driving under suspension, fleeing and eluding, no seat belt and three counts of stop sign violation after she allegedly stole from Family Dollar, 515 S. Breiel Blvd., then led Middletown police on a chase.

March 2

A man who owns the property in the 1500 block of Columbia Avenue told police that the renters were $3,200 behind on their rent, and they moved out and stole a $1,200 refrigerator. Police were unable to find a new address for the renters.

Four tires were slashed on a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo that was parked in the 1600 block of Jackson Lane. The woman told police she recently moved to the apartments and she had no idea who vandalized her vehicle.

A TV, Sony DVD player, Whirlpool stove and refrigerator were stolen from a residence in the 700 block of Fifteenth Avenue. There was no sign of forced entry.

A dog lawn statue was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Kay Drive. The woman said she found the lawn statue for sale in a Middletown antique store for $60.

Two car batteries, valued at $200, were stolen from employees at Goodwill, 3526 Towne Blvd. Both vehicles were left unlocked.

Someone broke into Independent Sheet Metals, 1301 Hook Drive, and stole the cash box that contained about $100 out of the office. The Plexiglass was broken out of the garage door.

March 3

While a Middletown family was in church at Tytus Avenue Church of God, someone broke into their vehicle and stole a purse that contained a temporary driver’s license and $25 in cash. The driver’s side window was smashed.

A 12-year-old boy was banned from Family Dollar, 1224 Girard Ave., after he was caught stealing miscellaneous candy and a beef stick, all valued at $4.79. The boy was transported by police to his home and he was cited into Butler County Juvenile Court.

March 4

While a man was shopping at Marsh, 621 N. University Blvd., someone broke into his car and stole a PS3, a PS3 controller and game and a birth certificate. He left the driver’s door unlocked.
