Nov. 28
A Snapper lawn mower, valued at $150, was stolen from the back yard of a residence in the 900 block of Malvern Street.
Nov. 30
Thousands of dollars worth of electronics and tools were stolen from a 1999 GMC Surburban that was parked in the 6700 block of Naldo Lane. One piece was estimated to be worth $12,000, while the other two had a combined value of $4,000.
Dec. 2
A Middletown man, Ricky Thomas, 19, of Meadow Avenue, was charged with burglary and drug abuse/heroin after he was found by Middletown police standing near Danberry Cinemas. Police responded to an apartment in the 4800 block of Roosevelt Avenue after it was reported several males were breaking in through a back door. Police found a 9 mm handgun near the back door with seven rounds in the chamber. The residence had been ransacked. Thomas was found with muddy pants and out of breath at the theater by police. Sixty-eight heroin capsules were found nearby. Rashua Issac White, 20, of Freedom Court, told police he drove the men to the apartment complex.
Four juvenile boys were charged with criminal trespassing and criminal damaging after they admitted to entering apartments in the 2100 block of Sheffield Street and destroying appliances and flooding the rooms. Two boys admitted to stealing a ladder, radio and paint out of one apartment, and two others said they were responsible for ripping out a toilet and kitchen sink and knocking down drywall.
A 37-year-old Middletown woman said while she was walking on Central Avenue, she was approached by a man, who put a gun to her head, and pulled her to the intersection of First Avenue and Central. She was able to escape unharmed, she told police.
An employee of El Rancho Grande, 6601 Terhune Drive, said someone broke into his car and stole $664 in cash.
While a woman was at church, someone broke into her residence in the 6800 block of Brandywine Street and stole a PlayStation 3, valued at $350, and a game, valued at $20, from her apartment.
Dec. 3
Police said someone or several people threw large rocks through the glass doors of Dragon Express, 3523 Roosevelt Blvd., and Hair Masters, 1211 Jackson Lane, grabbed the cash registers and fled. About $100 and change was stolen from Dragon Express and $15 was reported stolen from Hair Masters, according to the police report. Police found the cash registers in nearby trash cans. Police are reviewing surveillance camera footage from surrounding businesses.
A Middletown woman said while her apartment in the 300 block of Clark Street was being cleaned, someone stole three Christmas dresses, valued at $500. The woman said she contacted the apartment manager about cleaning out her apartment. When the woman returned, the dresses were gone, but at first, she thought they mistakenly were taken to the dry cleaners.
