A Middletown man was charged with possession of drug abuse/instruments after he was found in the Dumpster behind Lee’s Famous Recipe, 2011 N. Verity Parkway. Bryon Blackburn, 38, of Elwood Street, had needle marks on both arms, but he told police he had not used in some time.
A Middletown woman said she put $15 worth of gasoline in her car and drove to MidPointe Library on Broad Street, and after leaving the library, her car would barely start and it was out of gas.
Jan. 25
A Middletown man was charged with drug abuse/instruments and for a warrant through Middletown Municipal Court after he was found near a vacant home on Howard Avenue. Chad Dodge, 36, of Wilbraham Road, dropped a box when officers approached and officers discovered a syringe inside. While being booked, a metal spoon was retrieved from Dodge’s back pack.
A man accused of stealing $183.10 worth of detergent and toilet paper from Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., ran out of the store when approached by the store’s security. All of the items were recovered and the loss prevention officer told police the same man was caught stealing similar items before.
An engagement and wedding ring, valued at $1,800, were stolen from a residence in the 1300 block of Girard Avenue.
Eleven fishing poles were stolen from a residence in the 3100 block of Morgan Street.
Jan. 26
A woman who is going through a divorce told police that she moved in with a male friend, and someone stole her platinum diamond engagement and wedding ring, valued at $5,000. The theft occurred in the 2100 block of Pearl Street.
A man allegedly stole three flatscreen TVs, valued at more than $2,000, from Walmart. The store’s loss prevention officer told police the man stole a 40-inch TV on Jan. 20, a 47-inch TV on Jan. 22 and another flatscreen TV on Jan. 25. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 4o-50 years old, wearing glasses and a distinct mustache. Police were unable to identify the suspect after viewing the surveillance footage.
More than $600 worth of equipment was stolen from a vehicle that was parked in the 1900 block of Queen Avenue. The items included: air compressor, Dewalt grinder, Craftsman nailgun, rooter and canvas bag.
A 10-year-old boy took off running after being caught allegedly stealing $5.95 worth of candy bars from UDF, 101 N. Verity Parkway. The boy was located by police near MidPointe Library, hiding next to a wall. He was charged with petty theft, taken to his home and released to his mother.
Numerous tools, valued at $1,000, were stolen from a garage in the 500 block of Moore Street.
