MIDDLETOWN —

A father and six boys were arrested Wednesday following two fights, the first of which sent one boy to the hospital.

At 3:53 p.m. police were called to the 1500 block of Fairmount Avenue for a fight. Police say two 14-year-old twin brothers from Lebanon and a 15-year-old boy from Middletown attacked a 12-year-old Middletown boy because they could not find his older brother.

According to the report, the boy stated they “punched him, kicked him in the head and struck him with a brick.”

The boy was transported by ambulance to Atrium Medical Center. He was treated and released.

The older brother told police he had ongoing problems with the two Lebanon boys from an incident five to six years ago.

Police were told the three boys who attacked the 12-year-old fled the area. Police found the 15-year-old Middletown boy near Oakland Park on Baltimore Street, and after a short chase arrested him. Lebanon police found the brothers later Wednesday evening and transported them to Middletown.

All three were charged with felonious assault and the 15-year-old Middletown boy was also charged with felony obstructing officials business.

After arresting one of the three boys, officers then responded to the 1500 block of Fairmount Avenue for “a large disturbance.” About 40 to 50 people left the roadway when police arrived and officers found three other boys — ages 13, 14 and 15 — fighting. The 15-year-old was the brother of the boy who was allegedly attacked and sent to the hospital.

The three boys in the second altercation were released to their parents.

The three boys involved in the first altercation were transported to the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center.

While clearing the street, Daniel Isben, the father of the 14-year-old boy in the second fight, was charged with disorderly conduct and arrested according to police. Police said he initially disregarded an order to leave the area. When he got into his vehicle, he continued to yell at officers.
