SOUTHWEST OHIO —
Scattered clouds clear out this evening and temperatures will get chilly quickly.
Temps will be dropping through the 30s and into the mid 20s Thursday morning.
“Thursday is nice until the end, as sun will give way to late clouds. Despite the colder start, we’ll end up a bit warmer in the afternoon, with a high in the upper 40s,” said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Jamie Simpson. “Clouds will thicken up quickly tomorrow evening, and showers arrive overnight, likely after midnight,” he said.
Friday will be wet at times, with rain sometimes heavy during part of the day. “It is also possible a few rumbles of thunder may be heard,” Simpson said. “More rain will fall Friday night into Saturday morning, but a break from the rain still looks likely the second half of the day Saturday and Saturday night. We may even see a little sun late Saturday,” he said.
Rain returns Sunday.
“It looks almost certain we are wet in the afternoon, but perhaps some rain will be back as early as the morning,” Simpson said.
Light snow possible next week
Monday, Dec. 10 the area may start off with temperatures in the 50s with rain, then a strong cold front moves through the first half of the day and temperatures drop.
Temperatures will drop “all the way into the 30s by day’s end, and even below freezing in the evening if not by evening,” Simpson said. “It will be windy with rain and possibly a few thunderstorms eventually changing to light snow.”
Exactly when this happens is uncertain, he said. “It may be by sunset or later Monday night. It is also too early to tell if we get any accumulation,” Simpsons said. “However, one thing that does look certain is Tuesday morning’s temperatures will be cold enough for the potential for some icy spots developing on untreated roads in the area.”
