COLUMBUS —
President Barack Obama is scheduled to return to Ohio for another campaign event in Columbus on Tuesday.
Obama will speak at what is being billed as a grassroots event at Capital University just east of downtown. The Democrat plans to talk about how the election is a choice between different visions of how to grow the economy, create jobs and pay off the federal debt, according to the Obama campaign.
The stop once again shows the frenetic pace of the hotly contested campaign and Ohio’s importance as a swing state.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney campaigned in eastern Ohio, Zanesville and Chillicothe while his running mate Paul Ryan held campaign events in Oxford and North Canton this week. And the president stopped in Mansfield and Akron earlier this month.
The Obama event is free and open to the public but tickets are required. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis by visiting Obama campaign offices in Columbus beginning after 11 a.m. Saturday.
Both Romney and Obama have traveled to Ohio more than a dozen times since Jan. 1, their campaign spokespeople said.
No word yet on when Romney will hit the Buckeye State again.
