Police reports: While woman house sits, her house is ransacked

Jan. 14

A black platinum ring with numerous diamonds, valued at $600, and 150 prescription Methadone were stolen from a residence in the 1900 block of Hill Avenue.

When a man was upset with his order at Taco Bell, 2101 Verity Parkway, an off-duty police officer tried to talk to him. The man became very upset because the officer wasn’t a Taco Bell employee. The man cursed at the officer and drove off before he was charged with abusing a policeman.

Jan. 15

Thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen from a residence in the 2400 block of Sherman Avenue. The owner said she was house sitting since last week, and when she returned to her house, it had been ransacked. The thieves apparently entered through a rear window, then left out the back door. A Dell laptop computer, 36-inch flatscreen Samsung TV, a 19-inch Panasonic TV, a safe, a pair of diamond earrings and costume jewelry were among the items reported stolen. Police found muddy footprints throughout the house.

A Trenton man, Aaron Williams, 35, was charged with assault on a corrections officer after he allegedly pushed and struck an officer in the jail area.

A knife with a silver blade, a bronze handle and a picture of an eagle was stolen from a residence in the 2400 block of North Avenue.

An engine hoist was stolen outside a garage in the 1700 block of Eldora Drive.
