The last-minute campaign appearances President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney will make in Columbus on Monday will both involve big-time musical acts and occur about six hours apart.

The Obama campaign on Friday evening released details of the president’s rally that is to feature performances by Bruce Springsteen and Jay Z. Doors will open for the event at noon.

Jay Z will follow Springsteen on stage at Nationwide Arena, 200 W. Nationwide Blvd., and introduce the president, according to the campaign.

Tickets to the free event will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and will be available 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday from the surface lot at 1701 Morse Road. Tickets also will be available from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the campaign’s east side office, 1005 E. Long St., and its West Broad Field Office, 2364 W. Broad St.

On Monday at about 6 p.m., Romney will be joined at Landmark Aviation, at Port Columbus International Airport, 4130 E. 5th Ave., by The Marshall Tucker Band. Doors open at 4 p.m.

Tickets for the Romney event may be picked up at his campaign’s Columbus headquarters, 1335 Dublin Road.
