MIDDLETOWN —

A Middletown man was charged with felonious domestic violence after he allegedly shocked a pregnant woman in the stomach with a Taser on Wednesday at Ninth Avenue and South Main Street.

Thomas Waldon, 32, of Yankee Road, was charged, then transported to Middletown City Jail by police. He was released later that night from jail and he’s scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Middletown Municipal Court.

The woman told police that Waldon, the father of her unborn baby, shocked her in the right side of her stomach with a Taser trying to cause her to miscarriage.

She told police that Waldon was upset because she wouldn’t have an abortion. She was at her house on Eighth Avenue when a cousin called her and told her to meet at the corner of Ninth Avenue and South Main Street, according to police.

While standing on the corner, the 23-year-old woman told police she was approached by Waldon, who activated his Taser and jabbed her in the belly.
