OREGONIA —

A Lynchburg, Ohio man was arrested Sunday after allegedly using a stolen motorcycle to participate in a local riding event.

Jason J. Loudermilk, 43 was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Sunday after Warren County Sheriff’s deputies patrolling the annual Devil’s Staircase Hillclimb motorcycle event in Oregonia, Washington Twp., identified the 2008 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle he was driving as reported stolen from Grove City, Ohio, said Warren County Chief Deputy John Newsom.

Deputies were patrolling the event and using a license plate reader system which identified the motorcycle as being reported stolen.

Loudermilk was charged with receiving stolen property, carrying concealed weapons and using weapons while intoxicated. He is currently being held in the Warren County Jail on a $115,750 bond. Additional charges could be added pending lab tests on a suspicious substance found on Loudermilk, Newsom said.

The sheriff’s office currently has three license plate reader systems in use. These systems have proven to be instrumental in several successful investigations, Newsom said.
