Police to hold recruits class

For the first time in nearly five years, the Cincinnati Police Department is starting a recruit class.

Applicants must pass a police recruit exam and some rigorous psychological testing, and have to be able to complete 15 pushups in a minute, 15 sit-ups in a minute, and run a half-mile in less than five minutes.

Police officers can earn between $30,000 and $60,000 a year. Local 12

Pit bull advocates organize dog walk

The Cincinnati Pit Crew, a group striving to promote responsible dog ownership and educational opportunities, will hold a group walk from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in downtown Cincinnati.

Anyone and their pit bull dog can attend the walk. Dogs should be at least six months old, licensed, leashed and be up-to-date on shots.

World Choir Games has official song

The song “I Can” by nine-time Grammy winner Kirk Franklin has been named the official song of the 2012 World Choir Games. He will perform the song at the opening ceremony at U.S. Bank Arena. The international choral competition will be held for the first time in the U.S. July 4-14. Staff report
