HAMILTON —

The identity of a woman found floating in the Great Miami River Monday afternoon has been released by officials.

The victim is 57-year-old Shelby Ryczek of Gordon Smith Boulevard in Hamilton, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Ryczek’s death is being investigated as an accident or a suicide, according to sheriff’s detectives. An autopsy is being performed today at the Butler County Morgue. Cause of death will be released by the county coroner’s office.

Rycek’s fully-clothed body was discovered Monday afternoon floating in the river just south of the low level dam along Neilan Boulevard in Hamilton by people walking along the bike trail.

Her car, a Hyundai Sonata found parked in the lot of Kevin M. Lodder Park, was towed by authorities.
