HUBER HEIGHTS —
A driver who suffered injuries Tuesday afternoon after her car bounced off concrete barriers along Interstate 70 west will likely be cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
The woman, whose age and residence were not available, apparently lost control of the small sedan she was driving near the exit to Ohio 202 and smacked into the barrier off the left side of the roadway at about 5:30 p.m., Sgt. David Robison said Tuesday evening.
The car bounced back onto the interstate and hit the back end of a passing semitrailer that was in the middle lane, Robison said.
That impact sent her car back against the barrier two more times before the car came to rest, driver’s side door against the structure, the sergeant said.
Fire/rescue crews from Huber Heights and Butler Twp. had to cut away the roof of the car so the woman could get out, Robison said, because she couldn’t open the door.
She was alert when she was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
