Today’s weather will include a break from the wind and snow, but not bitterly cold temperatures.
Temperatures are expected to reach only the lower 20s with a high of about 24 degrees, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek. The normal high temperature for this time of year is 34 degrees.
Winds will be much lighter than Thursday and Friday. The National Weather Service predicts winds from the west at 8 mph.
The sun may make a brief appearance early in the day then give way to mostly cloudy skies, Wirdzek said. There is no chance of snow until tonight when flurries are possible.
“It’s just going to be a passing flurry or snow shower,” Wirdzek said, noting that there will be little to no accumulation with that shower.
U.S. 127 in Darke County was closed for a short time Friday due to downed Dayton Power and Light pole.
A total of 1.9 inches of snow was measured at Dayton International Airport, Thursday through Friday. Miami County got a total of about 1 inch of snow according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service forecast calls for mostly sunny skies on Sunday with a high in the upper 20s or lower 30s that could reach above freezing. Sunday night’s low will be around 27 degrees.
Monday will start out partly sunny with a high near 43 degrees. A 40 percent chance of rain in the afternoon and an 80 percent chance of rain after 8 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
A chance of rain exists Tuesday with the possibility of that rain changing to snow overnight into Wednesday.
