MONROE —

Solid Rock Church officials say the “Light of the World” statue, the replacement for the church’s “King of Kings” statue that was struck by lightning and burned on June 14, 2010, will be delivered and assembled the week of Sept. 3.

Church officials say the production schedule has been delayed by about a month due to modifications necessary for construction and code processes. The pieces are being carved by Global Manufacturing in Dayton.

After the pieces are carved, they will be taken to Display Dynamics in Clayton where they are dry-fitted and coated with polyurea.

The “Light of the World” statue was created by Cincinnati artist and sculptor Tom Tsuchiya, who created the statues of former Cincinnati Reds greats in front of Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati and Reds legend Joe Nuxhall at the Water Works Park in Fairfield.
