Catholic Health Partners and its local hospital group division Mercy Health said Thursday they have more than 80 job openings.

Cincinnati-based Catholic Health, Ohio’s largest health system, is holding a job fair in Blue Ash to help fill the various positions. The job fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Crowne Plaza hotel, 5901 Pfeiffer Road, Blue Ash.

More than 30 of the job openings are for Catholic Health positions as Information Technology Help Desk professionals to serve employees from throughout the nonprofit health system. The IT employees would work from a corporate support office in Blue Ash, Catholic Health said.

There’s also more than 50 job openings in clinical and nonclinical positions throughout Catholic and Mercy including: experienced cardiac registered nurses, experienced women services registered nurses, medical assistants, EPIC ambulatory application coordinators, finance and accounting application analysts, and technical engineers — disaster recovery.

Most of the hiring doesn’t come from new job creation. It’s mostly due to attrition and retirements, said Mike Boehmer, spokesman for Catholic Health. The health IT desk jobs were previously contracted out and Catholic Health has brought that function in-house, Boehmer said.

“These are really good jobs with full benefits and in a lot of cases tuition reimbursement,” he said.

And health IT jobs are in an up and coming field, he added.

Catholic Health, including Mercy, has 32,000 employees in Ohio and Kentucky. Mercy Health operates the Fairfield hospital.
