MADISON TWP. —

A Madison Twp. man last seen by his family Thanksgiving Day has been found.

Steven D. Cales, 57, of the 7500 block of Michael Road, was located late Monday at the Sunoco station at the corner of Ohio 122 and West Alexandria Road, according to Lt. Mike Craft of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Cales was reported missing by his family Saturday morning. A detective, police dogs and the sheriff’s office helicopter searched for hours Monday for Cales. Workers at the gas station called family when he showed up.

“He said he went on a walk,” Craft said, adding Cales had some belongings with him.

Deputies responded to Cales’ trailer on Saturday, found the door open and the residence empty. Cales’ truck was in the driveway.

Cassi Hormel, Cales’s niece, told deputies that family members took him food for Thanksgiving and talked with him for awhile, according to a missing person report. They went back on Friday, but Cales was not there and some of the food remained on the table. When he was not in the residence on Saturday, they reported Cales missing.
