Police in Beavercreek and Sugarcreek Twp. distributed composite photos Thursday created from descriptions provided by victims or witnesses in a series of break-ins in the two communities.

Sugarcreek Twp. police released one sketch created from a description provided by a Little Sugarcreek Road woman.

The woman told police she met the subject of the drawing about 11 a.m. Monday in the hall of her home at the 800 block of Little Sugarcreek Road.

“They got spooked,” Sgt. Mark White said.

Police said the man and and accomplice got away with a jewelry box holding money and jewelry from a bedroom in the home. Police said the men broke in through a rear window after no one answered the door at the home, according to witnesses.

Police turned to the community for help Thursday in solving the daytime house burglaries, as many as five more in Beavercreek and three in Sugarcreek Twp.. The other two break-ins in Sugarcreek Twp. were last Friday on Land Drive and over the holidays on Napa Valley Road, according to police.

“The perpetrators are ringing the front doorbell several times and if they get no answer, they are forcing entry, usually through the back of the residence,” Sgt. J.R. Williams of the Sugarcreek Twp. Police Department said in a press release.

The suspects impersonate utility or tree service workers, if the door is answered, police said.

“Please notify the police department if you have unknown, expected people show up at your residence,” Williams said in the release.

Beavercreek police released sketches of two suspects they suspect are linked to five cases in the past 10 days.

On Wednesday, police reported three burglaries in the south end of the city. A flat screen television , $700 in cash and a tablet computer were reported taken. In one case, police reports indicate a window was broken out and telephone wires ripped out.

Whether the latest incidents were related to the Sugarcreek break-ins is unclear.
