MIAMI VALLEY — A 20-year-old Fairfield High School graduate has reportedly been killed in Afghanistan.
Nicholas Olivas was an Army Airborne infantryman stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., according to the 2010 Fairfield grad’s Facebook profile.
The Department of Defense could not confirm Olivas’ death on Wednesday night.
But his father, former Hamilton Mayor Adolf J. Olivas, said the family plans to travel to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware on Thursday to collect his son’s remains.
According to Olivas’ Facebook page, he was married to fellow Fairfield graduate Faith Olivas last year and they have a son, Connor.
