JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. — A father who took out a restraining order against a 10-year-old boy accused of threatening his son with a knife has reached a deal that will keep the kids at separate schools

The Riverside Press-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/zzSfKa) also reported Wednesday that the two boys have resolved their differences and plan to stay friends.

The agreement was reached during a mediation session in Riverside County Superior Court.

Robert Casteel of Jurupa Valley was in court seeking to have the temporary restraining order extended for three years.

The newspaper says under the agreement, the boy will have no negative contact' with Casteel's son. The boy's mother also agreed to continue family counseling with her son.
