HAMILTON — A Hamilton High School career development coordinator will be honored Wednesday, May 27, as the 2009 YWCA Woman of the Year.

For the past 18 years, Zellene Miller has helped point hundreds of youth in the right direction by helping them plan their future and teaching how to achieve goals.

“Sometimes they don’t know what’s needed for their future. They don’t fully realize their dreams and their hopes,” Miller said. “I tell them they can do it. I’m an encourager, a supporter, even a cheerleader.”

Miller will be honored at the May Morning Breakfast at the YWCA, 244 Dayton St.

The event will be emceed by Vickie Ryan, the wife of Mayor Don Ryan.

YWCA officials said the New Miami graduate was selected because she exemplifies mission of the YWCA and has made a difference in the lives of Butler County residents.
