Geneva Roberts Whitley celebrated her 100th birthday on Oct. 24 in the Garden Room at the Manchester Inn.

She was born on her family’s farm outside Mowrystown, Ohio on Oct. 24, 1909, the daughter of Cornelius and Lelia Roberts.

She had two sisters and two brothers, now deceased.

She married Paul Whitley on June 19, 1929, and they were married for 57 years. She has two children, Gene (Angie) Whitley and Joann (Bob, deceased) Grimes. Her grandchildren include Col. Joe (Cathy) Whitley; Leann (deceased) and Bill Davidge; Doug (Laurie) Whitley and Gregg (Kelli) Grimes.

She has seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She has voted in every election but one since she was eligible to vote. She follows the Cincinnati Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes and Columbus Blue Jackets. She golfed at Wildwood Golf Club until she broke her hip.

She’s a member at First Christian Church.
