HAMILTON — Local volunteers will observe the National Remembrance Ceremony to honor all veterans at noon Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery, 1602 Greenwood Ave.

The national “Wreaths Across America” program will be hosted locally by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Campbell Gard Post 1069. The ceremony will be conducted at the new flag pole next to the office of Greenwood Cemetery.

Mayor Patrick Moeller is set to speak and lay one of seven ceremonial wreaths, according to Becky Abbott, senior vice president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Campbell Gard Post 1069.

Following the wreath ceremony, volunteers will lay more than 80 wreaths at grave sits starting with the American Revolutionary War Veterans, then move to the World War I section of the cemetery, Abbott said.

Groups scheduled to participate include active military members, Hamilton Police Honor Guard, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1069 Color Guard and Daughters of the American Revolution.
