WEST CHESTER TWP. — One child remains in the hospital after a head-on auto accident on Tylersville Road.
Police have determined that Billie. J. Hill, 79, of West Chester Twp., failed to yield as she pulled out of a private drive onto Tylersville Road on Wednesday, July 21, causing the accident that led to six people to being transported to area hospitals.
Kara Erbskorn, 25, of Hamilton, swerved left of center and over-corrected as she attempted to avoid Hill, police said. Subsequently, she crashed head-on with a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Meagan Laytart, 27, of West Chester Twp., according to police
Erbskorn’s 2003 Ford ZX2 had three passengers, all of whom were minors. Abby Kock, 14, and Claire Rowe, 15, were transported to Cincinnati Children’s Liberty campus and released, authorities said. Christina McKinney, 15, was listed in good condition Thursday at Cincinnati Children’s Liberty campus while Erbskorn was treated and released from Atrium Medical Center, authorities said.
Laytart and her one passenger, Haley Vogt, 5, were transported to Atrium Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
The accident occurred around 3 p.m. and shut down a portion of Tylersville Road between West Chester-Lesourdesville Road and Ohio 747 for several hours.
Investigations revealed Hill was at fault for the accident. She was cited for failure to yield from a private drive. Speed was not a factor in the crash, according to police.
