DOESBROWN THINK THOSE WHO HAVE PRIVATE PLANS THROUGH THEIR COMPANY PAY A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OUT OF POCKET WILL SURVIVE THIS. THE COMPANIES WILL CERTAINLY DROP THEIR PLANS AND THE PEOPLE WILL BE FORCED TO GO ON THE GOVERNMENT PLAN. . AT LEAST I HOPE THE ONES WHO VOTED FOR THIS BUNCH HAVE LEARNED THEIR LESSON. HOW IN THE WORLD WOULD ALL THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOST JOBS PAY FOR ANY HEALTH CARE. WHAT IS THE NEXT THING THESE PEOPLE HAVE IN MIND. GOD HELP AMERICA.

All government workers (including Congress and their staff) should be forced to use the new government plan.

This statement is coming from a individual that says one thing and does another, just like how he supports Everify and consistly votes against it, how he supports American labor yet protects illegal labor. My thoughts are if it comes from Brown, flush it down.

Did the JN actual join in on the discussion at this event or did it just write this story using Brown and DeParle's press release?

Sorry, this is just PR spin to win people over on a plan that has yet to finalized. Let's see the finished plan before votes and media cheers. Though I doubt our Government will get this right without damaging the economy even more.

Let's reduce U.S. debt and spending, fix entitlements and cut health care costs now before we add 46 million more people.

To our esteemed Senator I would just ask for him to show me what the government runs other than the military that is efficient and works.

Robert have you ever lookd at the UK and Canadian Socialized medicine system. If Canada's works so well why do so many come here for care....because you die on waiting lists there for basic procedures and in the UK also.

OH PLEASE, as soon as any employer realizes the government will give you health benefits for free they will all stop offering it. THUS more people out of work(insurance companies folding) and AGAIN giving hand outs to those sitting at home doing nothing. We should take care of our children (medicaid) and elderly (medicare) Revamp what we have and other then that GET A JOB!

Having spent some time in Europe, I have seen national health care work. Everyone's covered and there are no greedy insurance companies ripping us off. The sooner we have a national health care plan, the better.

This will be fun to watch because if they impose an additional tax on people that already are covered by employer health plans, then ALL of Sherrod's union buddies will start paying more taxes. Unless of course Obama figures out a way to make it free for unions, OH I forgot, he did that with GM and Chrysler.

Other government programs have worked out so well, such as social security, medicare and medicade. And we have so much extra money to spend. How dumb to these politicians think we are. They need to get some boxes and pack up their offices because they are going to get the boot
