MIDDLETOWN — A new office in Middletown stands a ghost of a chance of opening this week.

A group of paranormal investigators called ParaVizionz has established an office in Middletown at the Manchester Inn, which will host an open house from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 7.

The group has been in existence for about five years, but this is the first time they have been able to establish a permanent base, said Brian Hensley of Middletown, one of the team’s lead investigators.

“This will allow us to have a solid, isolated place to have our monthly meetings and research our evidence,” he said.

The group investigates claims of paranormal activity, tries to debunk the evidence if possible, and if not, tries to record evidence of such activity, Hensley said.

The group has investigated numerous local sites, including Kings Island, the Sorg Opera House in Middletown, the Harding Museum in Franklin, and the old Poasttown Elementary School in Madison Twp.

Although Sorg has been cited as a haunted place by numerous sources and ParaVizionz did find paranormal activity there, it was actually Poasttown that had the most activity, Hensley said.

“I got scratched there, and we’ve got video of doors slamming. We haven’t been able to debunk that yet,” he said.

Discount coupons for dining at the Manchester will be handed out Friday evening. To reserve dinner at the Manchester, call (513) 422-5481.

To RSVP for the open house, call ParaVizionz at (513) 509-5933 or (513) 464-6447.
