Cincinnati USA, the city’s visitors and convention bureau, announced Thurs., July 18 the World Choir Games will take place in Cincinnati in the year 2012.

It is an event expected to attract tens of thousands of participants.

The Cincinnati games will be the seventh World Choir Games extravaganza. The sixth is scheduled for July 15-26, 2010 in Shoaxing, China, according to www.worldchoirgames.com.

The competition is open to any amateur choir wishing to participate — even those with limited competition experience. Participation guidelines can also be found on the World Choir Games Web site.
