FRANKLIN — A local man will begin his duties as the first full-time chief of the Joint Emergency Medical Services District starting Monday, Oct. 26.
Andrew Riddiough is a former captain, battalion chief and lieutenant for the Mason Fire Department. He also had served as a lieutenant and director of emergency medical services for the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department.
“I am excited to be given this opportunity and am looking forward to taking a great organization and elevating it to a leadership position in Warren County and the state of Ohio,” he said.
Riddiough, a Franklin resident, brings a combination of 24 years of experience in fire and EMS services to the new post. He holds several fire and EMS certifications, including certified paramedic, and is currently completing the Ohio Fire Executive Program.
The former part-time chief, Brandon Saylor, will be remaining on staff to assist in the transition. Saylor did not make the cut of six semifinalists from the original field of 28 applicants.
