MIDDLETOWN — A 46-year-old woman has been released from Atrium Medical Center after being involved in a two-vehicle crash Monday, Sept. 6, on north Interstate 75 near the exit ramp to Ohio 122.
Ronald Feffenden, 46, and his wife Carol, 46, both of Brookville, suffered minor injuries when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car at about 7 p.m. The crash happened when Ronald Feffenden, the driver of the motorcycle, clipped the left rear end of a 2003 Honda CRV while attempting to change lanes, according to Sgt. Tracy Callahan of the Lebanon Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle slid on its side about 100 feet before coming to rest at the exit ramp to Ohio 122, Callahan said.
Carol Feffenden was taken to Atrium suffering from non-life threatening and non-incapacitating injuries, Callahan said. A nursing supervisor said late Monday that the woman was in the emergency room, but was expected to be released within a few hours.
Ronald Feffenden, who suffered some minor scrapes and bruises, refused treatment at the scene and was cited for failing to maintain assured clear distance.
Callahan said Ronald Feffenden passed a field sobriety test, indicating alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
“They were very lucky they weren’t injured further,” Callahan said.
The driver of the other vehicle, Lori Kolesar, 51, of Orient, was not injured, though her vehicle received minor left rear end damage.
The right lane of north I-75 was blocked for about 45 minutes while authorities cleared the scene.
