Since when did the citizens of Monroe agree to have LMHS torn down? How did the demolition get on this list? Is it just a ploy to get a building levy passed?

Oops, sorry we can't use the old high school because somehow it got torn down. Is this how Dr. Lolli is going to finish what she started?
Quote: “There are things that we’ve started here that I want to see finished. We have some really exciting programs for our students and I want to be part of those programs,” she said.

If Middletown does not take this money someone else will, therefore we will still be paying it back anyway. I have the confidence in Mr. Adkins that this money will be used properly. Yes I do think our city council leaves something to be desired but Mr Adkins needs to have some sort of backing and he has mine.

This money is for much more than a hefty facelift. HUD's definition of blighted properties: "A structure is blighted when it exhibits objectively determinable signs of deterioration sufficient to constitute a threat to human health, safety, and public welfare."

And while it won't create permanent jobs, it'll stimulate the materials and construction industries for a time. Plus, down payment assistance will encourage responsible, affordable home ownership.

Oh no. We're already off to a bad start. Adkins says "we have to do it right the first time and do it smart". Has the city ever done anything "right the first time and smart"? Another pile of money so the city leaders can destroy the city even more with their quest to make it a poor, welfare laden, Section 8 slum and forever ruin a once thriving town. Clean house in November and fire the city manager and her friends in government.

19+ million dollars of our tax money (and others throughout the nation) to add to the federal deficit, increase the probability of a lingering economic malaise with more job losses, high inflation, and perhaps even a total economic collapse. And they're worried about a facelift for neighborhoods. With unemployment high, how long do you think it will be before they need more $ for another facelift, just like a 2nd Stimulus package. We need to vote short-sighted politicos out of office ASAP.

While I understand Middletown and Hamilton desiring a facelift, are they one bit concerned that it is at the expense of their children and grandchildren? "No permanent jobs will be created through this program." Could be said about the whole "stimulus." OPM - other peoples' money.
