DEERFIELD TWP. — A mechanical failure at a self-storage business caused a fire today, June 30, that destroyed at least four units.

The blaze broke out at Paramount Storage, 3835 Park Drive, just after 5 a.m. There were no reports of injuries at the business off U.S. 22 near Maineville.

Battalion Chief Doug Wehmeyer said some kind of mechanical failure in the pole barn ignited the blaze. Crews from Deerfield and Hamilton townships, Mason and Loveland battled the blaze for about three hours.

It is too early to determine damage estimates, Wehmeyer said.
